As above basically! I want to completely flush out the water system on my XE.

Bottom hose off and hose pipe in the header tank?

Yes mate, if you have a drain valve on the rad use it, if not just make sure your rad pipes dry before putting the pipe back on, as it might leak slowly if it's damp etc..

thats how i done my mx5, then took the rad off and gave that a good clean through aswell

Drain water, load of Cillit Bang in header tank, flush through with hose pipe lol done it many times works a treat

Whats your reason for cleaning it? Is there oil contamination or is it just rusty dirty water in there?
We you a cooling system flush at work that is very effective. It is a non foaming detergent. We normally use it when a head gasket has failed and we need to clean the system of oil contamination and mayo.

Just rusty, crappy water - hope its nothing to serious..

sorry to hi-jack your mate, but my xe head has gone porus whats the best stuff to get rid of the yummy mayo stuff

Fix the pours head isue with sleeving the water and oil ways, or new head that's not gone..

Already got some sleeves made for fixing the head, I meant the actual water system like pipes etc that's got the mayo stuff like inside.
