c20xe idle problem, Help.

hi, i've got a c20xe in my mk1 astra whcih has been running fine until the last few days.

on tick over the idle is fine until its been running for about 10 mins or so, then it starts idleing all over the place. I can start driving it and it will be fine then all of a sudden start reving by its self and won't stop unless I cut the engine off.

we have changed throttle postion sensor, idle control valve, water temp sensor, put a new air flow meter on this morning and now as soon as you hit 2-2.5k revs the engine cuts out.

we have checked for split pipes and can't find any.

any suggestions on what else it could be.

Have you checked your timing on the cambelt or (dizzy if it's an early XE) as it may have slipped, also what fuel pump are you running? is the pump in good order as it maybe fuel starvation.

Also are the earths all in good condition?

hi, no not checked timing, not sure what fuel pump its running as we didn't do the conversion but it seems to be in good order. all earths seem good aswell

oh and its a late engine
