Well have been very busy today patching up the red 2.0l ready for the MOT, luckily when we bought it we got the fail sheet so have had a good guide to go off.

Only caught the carpet on fire once wich was a bonus, an even bigger bonus was my mate having an extinguisher

I know it will fail on one or two little things as we ran out of welding wire and just left it ready to do, also the horn isnt working, but there both easy enough.

Hopefully we only get pulled up on the two-three little points and will have a new 12 month MOT.

Here it is if you havent seen it yet...

Ben,when me old ren was comin up for it's mot it didn't have a horn either so i phoned up the garage an they told me aslong as there was sommant secued to the car that made a noise it would be ok so late one night i 'borrowed' a boat horn (one like the olden day cars) an gaffa taped it to the car, went through not a problem

I thought Rusty's name was because he had Ginger hair or something, but i guess it was because his Nova actually was Rusty! Hence all the welding needed for MOT!

It really wasnt that bad.

The areas that it failed on were a poor but the tester failed it on the same points for three different things, so with one weld it sorted three points.

It also failed on 6 points about the clear rear clusters, have now put it back to standard so that them sorted.

Another 2-3 failure points were where someone had bodged it up beofre, they were down as "unaceptable repairs" so we have done these properly.

Well all in all it has took me one good day, a few small metal plates and a pot of underseal. The good thing about the car is that the rear arches, both sills, the boot floor are all very solid, so now we have sorted the engine bay, it is a very sound car. Next year i cant see anything that would have gone so should go straight through.

Locky if only you said last week- We scrapped a very nice shell, it didnt have a sunroof either, it was a mk1 and still had the engine in it.

The shell was very clean, just needed an interior, bumpers, tailgate and some wheels.

You could have had it for free if you wanted it.

Well it is going to be around for a while as i was presented with this earlier...

http://www.novaload.net/forums/album_see.php?id=1652

It would have been a shame to break it as it a solid car, and all the arches etc have all been properly sorted. Also the engine etc is good enough to last.

Bit releived though, thought was going to be a lot more work involved but me and my friend managed to get through it.
