It's the little heat shield thing over the exhaust manifold, does it actually do anything as I fitted my k&n the other day and I'm wondering weather it's worth leaving or throwing

aint if for heat to the carb? for cold mornings? on the oem setup?

as above, fits the bottom of the feed tube on the old intake box, its not needed anymore

except when the weather gets too cold & your car won't run on the k&n & you have to fit the oe one back on, due to carb icing

i nether had any carb icing problem with my k&n this winter

that isnt really a substitute for the warm air feed.

no it isnt but its better then nothing and i assume he wants to keep the k&n for the sounds and looks under the bonnet

Ahh carb icing on a 1.3SB with a K+N, that takes me back a few years lol,

At -15 in 1995 It was great fun in the snow of empty car parks but driving on a motorway with the engine dying isn't so much fun,
