View Full Version : 2nd Sport Rep in Glasgow

Many of you will have read my mate Dave's thread on his sport rep build. Its fairly epic and even better in the flesh.

Thought it best to keep his car company so bought this last year over in N.I after spotting it on gumtree.

boot sport decal will need repositioned when i get the badges back on.

Its '85 registered so correct year was a big draw. Its got a 2.0 8v and came with a later sr interior. The interior went to Ewan on here. Irish number went on my camper. Nova is on a 'C' reg now :)

And grey dash, carpets and door cards (6 dial dash was a bonus)

Spent the remainder of year sourcing bits. The brown bits came from my mate's build. He also painted the bumper (thanks buddy) :thumb: Fronts seats were an ebay purchase.

Finally got a rear seat a few weeks back. Its a split seat but in great nick so more than happy with it (fronts went to Chris on here who's building the Jamaica sr/gt)

So today we have something resembling this. Wheels will be going in favour of white astra gte rims

Next on the 'to do' list is wheels, boot badges and paint the sills. Oh, and re-paint the door cards which are a mile out lol

I'm looking for a 1.3 boot badge and a front towing eye cover if anyone has them.

Hoping to have both reps at total vauxhall day at Crail in April.

i borrowed daves to copy the decals for mine .
dropped it back off on wed night .
must say it went well ..spinnin the wheels in every

Hehe, I hope you treat your other customers cars slightly better!

Although appreciate they are paying customers bud. Plus it was built to be driven hard so i have no problem whatsoever with it.

Still think you'll have the edge at Crail in April...

Astra alloys fitted. Poor pic due to being tucked up in garage, but nice straight rims :)

It a street/strip car, 2276cc (about as big as beetle crankcase will take) with a lairy cam and twin 48's.

Should be a 13 sec car, best its run so far is a 14.2. Its good fun.

Got a couple of vw related projects that need my attention hence the sale.

Had hoped to get a decent timed run out of it today at Crail but weather dictated otherwise.

Time for someone else to have some fun with it.

No longer mine but pic in this months total vauxhall. Last time I drove it too.

Think they thought it was the real deal :)
