Ok folks. Pinched from another forum. What's the oddest or strangest track day car you've ever come across. I've done a circuit in a 405 gtdt diesel and put a lot of stuff to shame. I think the most memorable track car I ever saw was a mk1 black Mitsubishi L200 warrior, full spec with chrome roll bar and 4 spots. Bloke drove the balls off the thing.

I saw a scrapper nissan/datsun cherry with two space savers on the rear lol he blew it up in the car park afterwards

Flying around the Nurburgring and coming across a bus of tourists going around at the same time was an interesting surprise. I dare say that a few guys in expensive cars there wern't overly impressed by being overtaken by a shonky little Corsa A :)
Has no-one else come across any other interesting of strange track day cars?
IIRC there used to be a Nissan Micra with Pulsar GTIR engine and running gear at Knockhill hot hatch days.

Remember seeing a v6 laguna going around Knockhill a few years back, seemed to go quite well from what i can remember.

There was a fiesta a few years back with an evo 6 engine and running gear. I took pics and a video I'll see if I can find them
Remember seeing a v6 laguna going around Knockhill a few years back, seemed to go quite well from what i can remember.
still goes there, passes quite a lot of cars too!

There used to be a 20xe`d combo van with `royal fail` written down the sides.
IIRC there used to be a Nissan Micra with Pulsar GTIR engine and running gear at Knockhill hot hatch days.
Little Bandit, built by Dave Bull. A regular at Crail and Knockhill. It was FWD and running an SR20DE+T originally from his Almera and now back in an N15 Almera last I heard. After he totalled the Micra at Knockhill.

Iirc, the 1/4 mile vid is the last incarnation of the engine. Just before he started running huge front drag slicks.

I`ll have a look through some old mags when i get chance and scan the pics up.It was at a track feature in either total vauxhall or practal performance car. Going back afair few years now.

The one I saw was black with graphics down the side. It was barly recognisable as a fiesta aswell. A friend of a friend ran in the same class of car in a 600bhp cossie I'll find out from him.

Just spoke to my mate, the evo engined fiesta is no more. The engine is now in a scirocco running in the smrc

The transit was the test bed for the xj220 engine and is quick around a track and was in the top 10 up goodwood hill. Engine is tuned to 700hp.
