Fuel tank difference's

is there any difference between 3door and 5door tanks? theres a new one on ebay i might get for my mk1 but im sure ive read somewhere that theyre's a difference between 3 door and 5 door ones?

Yep 3 door and 5 door tanks are different. On a 3 door the main fill is at the side, on a 5 door is at the centre on the rear.
