Get the horseshoe clips that hold the cable into the drums - they always break when you prize them off, Vauxhall only.

I would soak the adjuster on the back axle in penetrating oil too - they are often seized and makes life difficult when changing the cables

Is yours running the over axle slider?

Grease for repacking wheel bearings.

Just checked your chassis number from your reg on EPC. You don't have the axle slider.

do my shoes adjust like conventional drum with the adjust just below the cylinder as haynes says something about things on the back plate you turn to adjust them

No, yours will be self adjusting. You will see the long bar with the ratchet mechanism on it. It sits at the top between the shoes under the wheel cylinder

please buy new drums & wheel bearings.. it makes life a lot simpler. then when you fit all the stuff, adjust the 'self adjuster' to make sure the foot brake is as good as it can be before doing the handbrake. oh, and use copper slip to lube the adjuster.

the pikey way to tighten up the back brakes is to tighten the handbrake cable.
