Hello. :)

Anyway, I broke my Nova SX and I've a buyer for the gear box. Its not stamped (presumably F15) but there is a Part number on the casing. 90446059 0081226 P628-10.

I fired that into Google and got a Norse Breakers yard claiming they have one removed from a 97 Tigra X16XE, again, no mention of the F15 part.

Anyway, from this, how can I tell if I have a CR or WR Box?

It should be marked on the side. It sometimes hard to read and worn off. This may help. http://www.pngclub.com/forum/showthread.php?182786-*INFO*-how-to-tell-F13-ratio-s

what mph/1000rpm was it doing in top?

a cr box does about 19mph/1000, a wr is about 23mph/1000

C374 are the last digits so it's a CR 3:74? Does that sound right?

Mowgli, I dont know what it does top end. I had the car 9yrs, the day it was finished (9yrs after II bought it) i put it through a hedge in 3rd gear. lol

That part number isn't even listed on EPC, the closest I can find is 90446107 in gearboxes.

But the above does mean it is a CR 3.74 :)

i would recommend trying it at 3k in 5th to see if its running around 60mph(cr) or 70 ish(wr)

then you'd know with a bit more accuracy.

"C" indicates close ratio
