stupid question

I need to replace my mid exhaust hangers, ive noticed there hanging from a bracket that looks to be welded to the body, and is curled up at the ends, is the only way to replace these to curl the ends down, seems like a bad design to me. Any help appreciated, thanks in advance

With a bit of persuasion you can squeeze the new donut rubbers over the car hangers without bending them. Don't worry too much about taking the old ones off In One piece :)
