Are the larger washers used to space the cv joint off the hub carrier there to prevent the cv joint touching? And what size is it internally and externally?

The washer he's talking about goes between the CV and the rear face of the bearing. Yes I believe it's meant to stop the CV binding against the knuckle, but IMO its worth a trial fit to see if they bind or not as mine seem fine without the spacer.

I have had a trial and they seem to just touch. I just wondered what people actually used
