I have bought an OMP six point half cage for my xe which will be used on the track.

It has all six feet and the proper bolts/fittings.

Should I....

A weld spreader plates in and then drill holes in and bolt the cage in, or...

B is it better to weld in plates and then weld in the feet?

The advantage to the bolt method means I can remove it easily,

also for the spreader plates in 2mm new steel enough and how far outside the feet should I go?

The bonus of a bolt in cage is that its removable if possible. Weld in drilled spreader plates. Personally I'd go for 3mm steel and have the spreader plates 20mm bigger in all directions than the cage feet...ie if the cage foot is 80mm x 60mm then make the spreader 120mm x 100mm

Thanks, that's what I was thinking, keeping it removable if possible.
