From what If heard of the rigs unless you know someone on them its hard to get your foot in the door.
Most seem to get out there through being vouched for by someone all ready on them.
try marksman technicians

they do lots of pipe fitting offshore, few boys from the village work there
or go offshore as a roustabout/roughneck
theres loads of companys in its not as hard as people think to get a start
Rowan-maersk-stena-transocean-diamond drilling etc, start with an agency for a while then a full time position will come in time
Gd luck
mrT I'm guessing you already work offshore?
Is there a certain route to take if you have engineering qualification but no experience or trade?

I have quite a few friends that work offshore, get your survivex done and you should get something easy enough.
I've been looking into it as well, sick of working in an office behind a computer all day now
Offshore will have more pay so even better, I'm not expecting huge amounts but anythings better than what I'm now, I'll even move to Aberdeen if I have to!
