1.0 OHV Engine won't crank at all

Hey,
Recently bought a Nova Saloon fitted with the 1.0 OHV engine fitted, bought a new starter for it and ripped out the immobilizer and all it does is click as if the battery is dead, but the battery is fully charged.
Any Ideas?

does the engine have a good earth mate? should have one from gearbox to the chassis?

Mine did this a while back, the starter was just stuck, but if it's new might not be the fault. All I did to free mine up was rock the car backwards and forwards in gear, or you could give the starter a whack.

Remove the starter first and check it works, then see if the engine turns manually by turning the pulley or pushing/pulling it in gear. If both are ok then it's the fitting on the starter, earths etc

have you ever seen or heard the engine running or turning over?

it might be seized.
