I "think" i used a 913 on mine.

I just measured around the pulleys and then got a belt the correct length.

A lot of others used a 913 belt, but i had real bother with mine and i think it was a 947 but cant remember, thankfully when i needed to replace mine, i grabbed a handful from work and kept trying them till they fitted lol

Edit, after trawling my thread i couldnt find my reference to belt length, then i remembered a mate had tagged me in a pic on fb showing the length of his belt, he had to use a 925, i used a 950 on mine, so it does vary a lot for some reason!

surely your old belt has the size no. on it?

Not necessarily, they can and often do wear the lettering off, if its been overtightened from fitting, the writing will flake off very quickly, or he could be building one and as such not have a belt at all, like i didnt!

I haven't looked, it's buried under a pile of snow! Just thought I should have one in boot, just incase.....

My 1.0 goes through them every second year and I usually forget to change it so I soon learnt to carry on, now it's usually 5 minutes at the side of the road instead of AA and so on. Probably a lot harder on an xe, haven't looked much at the engine yet.

we fit second fan belts on our jcb's & tractors. its such a job to get them in round pump drive shafts & massive metal fans that cable tying a spare in place so it doesn't catch is almost an industry standard procedure.

i dont like the way i have to remove the hyd pump on my digger to fit a belt. its a pain in the face.

Mines around 913 too. I remember 900 being a bit to small.

These figures make no sense of the three the motor factors gave me a choice of. I put a bit of string round the belt on the car and measured that, not very scientiic I agree but what can i do!

Anyway it nmeasured appoximately 95 cm so is this the 913 (assuming that means mm)?

now measure your string at 913 and make sure you have enough range on your tensioner to both tighten fully (with room for future adjustment) and slacken to allow belt removal.

no point getting a 913 to find your tensioner slot is maxed out and its too long.

I found with a 913 belt on mine, i had to force it on, with no bolt in the adjuster and the alt touching the back of the block, i had to cut it back off!

...or visa versa obviously
