Thanks for that this one is off a 99 Astra ecotec, just it was very cheap and local. Doesnt have too much info on ad just x18xe and where hes pulled it from, mileage etc.
X18xe is big block, so you'll need conversion mounts etc too.

X18xe doesn't run canbus. The x18xe1 was never fitted in the corsa Sri. You're thinking of the z18xe (small block )

Ok right, wanted a simple swap so maybe better looking for a small block x16xe or similar i suppose. thought x18xe would be a straight swap

2 secs..
Nope wrong again, the x18xe1 and z18xe found in vectra b then c are small block. The x18xe1 into a nova is a good conversion, but I've heard the inlet fouls the steering rack, and it's only 115bhp.

Take it this is the one yeah?
That's an x18xe1, So small block. It'll fit in a nova without the conversion mounts. You'll need the full engine, ecu, engine wiring harness, immobiliser ring and tbf programmed key from the same car.
Use an f15 box. Have a look on corsasport for a few corsa b's that have them in. Alex off here has one in his corsa iirc.
Sent you a pm I had in my inbox with some details off Alex's car. Hth
didnt fow16v run a x18xe?

Yep he did, big block though. The pic the lad has posted is a small block x18xe1 :)
my bad all look the same :( lol
lol I've often wanted to do this conversion. One day.

Great thanks for your help
Just to stop the confusion:
C18XE - Big block
X18XE - Big block
X18XE1 - Small block
Z18XE - Small block

Just got a response back off the lad selling the engine and theres no ecu, keys, etc just the engine is there a way around this or would it be better to look for a complete engine with all the other bits included? its going cheap thats all.
Thanks
I'd look for a complete running donor car, you'll have everything you need then. I've seen a couple of mot fail vec b's make £300 ish on the bay.

I would prefer to do that but i havent got room for another car on the drive! my misses is on the brink already. Can you not buy the transponder, ecu etc off another engine and use it as long as they match engine type, surely should be ok?

i.e http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VAUXHALL-VECTRA-1-8-X18XE1-ECU-SET-OPEL-IGNITION-MODULE-90569370-/221177062892?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item337f2e25ec
Thanks
yeah you can use ignition sets, but they will go for strong money because the ECU's are bolted to the engine for some retarded reason so they drop like flies, it's normally more money for the ECU set than a used engine. Probably why it's been removed from yours.
