i think those pictures are probably from before it was lowered - coz in those pics its certainly not as low as is claimed in the description.

Ben (lurk75)

Pepe is the lowest nova by far, its about 180mm lower than a normal nova and thats on 17's. It can sit with its sills on the floor and the wheels will still turn. Rick

18-08-03, 05:07 PM
If it counts.. my downpipe is only 1/2 an inch off the floor if i wind the coilovers right down... lol

I think MC's old nova is the lowest nova actually... no wheels and no suspension, its sitting on its belly :P

Rick Draper
18-08-03, 06:55 PM
Nope he had to fit 17's to higher it a bit as when he had 15's on it was to low and when they put speed bumps around where he lives he cud not get it over them! Rick

Rick, is pepe on the road now? Ive heard so much about the car over the years but never seen it. The last i saw of it on the net it was having a mad engine built for it.

Karl.

Rick Draper
18-08-03, 11:17 PM
Karl i dont think its on the road yet the engine bay is mad in it though its all been airbrushed up and looks mad! Think Grom who owns it is just waiting for it to be mapped up then it will be on the road. Rick

personally i dont see the attraction to cars that are that low > if its a car that is obvioulsy about to be on a track and raced then fair enough > the low ride is helpful for aerodynamics and handling but one a nova > sitting 20mm from the ground just looks off if you ask me.

Quite an acheivment to get it there i admit > but just doesnt float my boat really.

However, anyone know exactly what colour pepe is > coz i quite like it.

Aamir

I hope wisewoods opinion is in the minority here,
I believe lowering a car makes it look more aggresive,
don't know why, look at Jamie's Nova (link further up in post)
it's completely standard, yet it looks so much better
when lowered, a lot less like a shopping trolley.

25-30mm drops are poofy !

Look how mad Golf owners go with their cars !

Lowering the car should be the first step when
improving the looks on any car.

wisewood
19-08-03, 11:11 AM
i am not against lowering the car > i just think you should lower it by an amount that suits the styling of the car.

a nova sitting that low, in my opinion its just not right.

60mm drop is fine, more aggressive sporty lokos, much better handling > car still looks good.

giggler
19-08-03, 11:19 AM
i agree with you all to an extent

Lowering a car makes a hell of alot of difference to its appearance! :D

like aamirzahid sed, standard nova looks alot better lowered than looking like a boat!

suppose it depends on ya taste, if ya like it slammed to the deck lower than ya grannies nipples then fine, but i prefer between 40-60mm drop! sweet

Great ! Please mail them to me aamir@nbsidesign.fsnet.co.uk

Any more info on Pepe's setup, ie: which brand coilovers, how much ?

krobinson

Mine is pretty low. When measured beside my standard white nova, it sits 90mm lower, even with it running 16's! They are -80mm springs tho.. yes i'm as confused as u :P

http://www.novaload.net/images/car_images/280big.jpg

If i go lower at the front it will hit the arch, unless i cut it up about 2" like pepe! And if i lower the rear more it will look silly cos the rear will be lower than the front!

that nova (krobisons)

is how much a nova should be lowered in my opinion. Wheels sit tightly in the arches, without to much of the rear wheel going into the arch.

Looks sweet as.

Pepe's os mad, but I think it's to low.

well personally i think mines good enough :D

Suits the car, not the way i would go for mine.

That style of airbushin is quite easy but does give a good effect.

IMO if thats what i was doing i would have left the engine plain and left the art for the bay.

Nice idea for a show car though.

From what i can gather its practically a touring car spec engine but running without any restriction like the BTCC cavs had to run so it shud have +300 bhp NA! Rick

An aqauintance bought a works Cosworth engine that had never been ran for ?6k of a guy who had two in his garage. He bought them off them after they stopped using the Escorts.
