i know the 3rd from the left is the top alternator mount, right? but what one is for the bottom if any, i cant work it out and its pissed me off which dosnt help me think lol

its on the left side of the engine so i know its not for the header tank etc, cheers guys :thumb:

The parts shown are for the standard fitment of the alternator, it is fixed to the block and has a long belt with a tensioner roller, the bit you pointed out is the only bit you need/can use from those four, the rest want binning and you need to go through your parts bins to find the other bit!
That hose is the feed hose from the header tank on the cav/calibra the xe came from as their header tank is top left of the bay, you dont need that hose/cant use it, so whip it off, also the one inbetween the inlet manifold between two and three needs changing too as the cav/cally one is also wrong, and its a million times easier when the engine is out, trust me as i forgot!

The hose isnt a feed, it goes to the top of the header tank, ideally you want to carefully cut the rubber holding it to the other water pipe, and run it to the top of your header tank. Also use a header tank with 2 inlets at the top instead of a t piece into the nove pipe and this will help it to run alot cooler

ive got the calibra header tank somewhere might see if i can bodge that on to the nova somehow

That or see about using the inlet pipe and glue/plastic welding it ito the nova header tank

that is risky
Just do it the way everyone else had done over the years and t into the top rad to e pension tank hose.

what kinda t peice do people use?
ive got some copper t fittings in the van would they work
