I'll be removing my engine from the car this weekend and putting into long term storage, am I supposed to leave the oil in or do I drain it? Ta

i'd drain it personally baz, and stick a new filter on it before it gets stashed away :)

Spot on, cheers :thumb:
Leave the oil in (preferably change for new, should stop any emulsified water seperating) and turn it over on the stand every once in a while, will coat the parts and keep it fresh.
Alternatively you could leave it alone for 18 months under a damp blanket, knew of someone that did this and I was there when the engine was started, it blew 2 auxillary shaft bearings straight off resulting in no oil pressure and probably would have snapped the cam chain if we hadn't replaced the rusty one!!
