do i need to get new rubbers or can i use the same one?

just be careful you dont crack it if its a second hand screen, they are prone to it, well me anyway :x

ref window rubber - it depends on how old the old one is - some of the newer rubbers dont need mastic to secure them and the glass - the old one maybe bodged up with it - makes fitting the new one a little sticky...

Also - older rubber may have small cracks in it - new one will prevent/reassure you it wont leak - unless you fit it wrong!

First windscreen I ever removed, I tried to 'help' it out with a small hammer, whoops, didn't work!

:lol: Reminds me of a time when me and a mate were stripping his crashed toyota starlet, and decided to "help" the windscreen with a large flat metal bar... BOOM!!! there goes the front screen in a million pieces!!! :oops: We laughed our asses off and picked bits of glass from our clothes and hair till next morning! :lol:

I have tried breaking loads, have hit them with car jacks, hammers anything and they wont go, we had one with about 10 cracks in it and i couldnt break it :o

Last weekend whilst I was out, some towrag (& I don't mean that VW offroader) came round & stanley knifed my screen out to use on his own car. the git lives less than 100 yds from my house and the police are dealing with him. Has anyone else ever had one stolen before????????????
