What should I go for when I upgrade my brakes? They are shitty non-vented standard ones atm!! I would like to go for the 284mm V6 ones but are they over kill on a Nova. Would the 256mm 16V ones be much different in performance to the V6 items? I already have 15" wheels. Has anyone had anyt probs with the kit supplid by v-tuning.com?
Cheers
Phil :D :o
i use the 16v setup on all Novas but the v6 setup is my next plan. its better again so why not just go straight for that
284's wont fit under most 15" wheels!!

Apologies, Dicko! Spose I could measure the inside diameter of the wheels b4 I actually buy the stuff?! I have got a set of 15" Calibra wheels on atm!
thought calibras had a crazy offset compared to a Nova:? i guess not if you have them on!
V6 brakes will fit under some 15" wheels but deffinatly not Cav GSi wheels, I've tried.
I'm gonna post up regarding fitting 16v's under my Dare 15inchers, basically clearance is only a few mill with the standard calipers :?
for this post i agree with dicko

i have no probs fitting 256mm disks under my compomotives
i had them under my 14's as well no probs (wasnt much gap but they fitted)
was that with new pads+discs and that can account for upto 20mm+
also was that 20mm*256mm or 24mm*256mm calipers. maybe yours were off corsa/astra with the thinner type.

Techie had the V6 ones and didnt like the weight on the front so only used the 16v ones on the white car.

I'll be running V6 front, hopefully with the rear disc beam it shouldnt be overkill up front...

I have never drove a car with the V6 setup, but have talked to about 5-6 who have and all have complained in a few ways about it, differing from weight to expense to shuddering etc etc...
