When I bought my daily I managed to barter them down a fair way, but they wouldn't come down that last fifty quid, even though they had dropped a few hundred.

When I got it home I found 53 quid in change dotted around the car! I had to wonder whether that was why they wouldn't budge any further.

I once heard a story about a dead cat in an engine bay, the woman complained of a squealing noise, then a burning smell.

We found a cat caught up in the drive belts on a car. Unfortunately it had been there a while so was crawling with maggots :(.
Must have gone to find somewhere warm but got she shock of its life when the owner turned the key. Que comedy cat rotation lol

Found a mouse in the front caliper of a Peugeot 106 a few weeks back, posted pics on here on another thread

Had a 308 recovered in with a flat battery yesterday. We replaced the battery but it went flat again in half an hour.
Turned out he had a mouse been chewing through the loom insulation and made a home in the engine bay fusebox. It has p!ssed on the fuse board and shorted it out lol

Found a boot full of porn on a car that came in for a service. Bloke never even bothered hiding it lol.

Had a woman bring her car in with all the tools of her trade in the boot, she was an escort/prostitute so you can get what the tools were. Obviously business was good, she had a new X5 lol

Had car in the other day and when the tech opened the glovebox, £900 in fifty pound notes fell out! The customer had left the car unlocked in a carpark with the key on the front wheel for us to collect it as he starts work early. He had forgot about the cash, I wish I could forget I had £900 knocking about lol

Found £4k cash in the glovebox on BMW a few years back aswell.

I think the worst thing found in a customers car was a gun by the boss in a garage i used to work for, he called the police and the sent out armed officers and they hid around the garage and told us to act normal when he came back like its that easy but it turned out to be a replica but it was convincing to be real. Just another normal day in birkenhead

We had a car come in for a service and there were love letters in the glove box, the disturbing thing is that he was married and he was a gym teacher at a secondary school, needless to say they weren't from his wife and someone wanted be alone with him like they were on that trip

live ammo in a nova saloon when helping baxter do some highway bodgery....

re the dead cats....

i did once wire a dead cat to the silencer of a lowered maxi powered 1.2 corsa b (it was already dead when i acquired it) & the lad drove round for 4 days with it cooking & stinking to high heaven... all for a cheap practical joke to get him to go to kwikfit & ask them to look at his cat.

Picked up a 350z a few years ago and found an envelope behind the drivers seat saying '2nd prize' on the outside and there was a £20 note inside.

Then a few days later I found a tax disc for the car under the passenger seat with 9 months tax remaining (when I got the car I taxed it for 12 months). I sent the 9 months one back for a refund not expecting anything but got a cheque a few weeks later!

You'll probably find this is theft as the car was not yours or did I misunderstand you about taking £78.52 for a customers car.

Found 40 Euros under the Co-drivers seat when I got my rally car back to Czech from England

The money didnt belong to the taxi driver either as it would have been lost by other people under the seats so its like finding money on the street realy and iirc the car didnt belong to him as he rented it to use a taxi

Which technically is theft by finding...just saying, not arsed either way lol

Oh and for the thread, most interesting thing would be a silver butter knife under the backseat of a car many years ago...posh sarnies in a crap family hatch? Perhaps.

That reminds me, I found a long expired fire extinguisher in a car so decided to play a little joke on my mate. I emptied the contents of the powder fire extinguisher into the backbox of his Renault 5 then put a rubber glove over the tailpipe and gaffa taped it on. He got in and started it and i have never seen a rubber glove get so big! It went with a hell of a bang followed by the biggest cloud of smoke ever, he really shat himself and jumped out thinking he had blown it up. Rather amusing lol

when i was in the 6th form, there was a girl who's dad had restored an early moggie minor for her to drive... at the time people were taping condoms over tailpipes, but the tailpipe on the moggie was really small, so at the pub we all went to, we stuck a party balloon over it, and it failed to start... it wouldn't even crank over lol the girl was going mad that someone, and she laid the blame (rightly) on me, had sabotaged her car, then she rang her dad to come & sort me out, meanwhile my mate removed the balloon, which she hadn't seen.... so her dad arrived to bollock me & i pointed out that i'd done nothing to her car, which miraculously started....cue one embarassed girl & apologetic dad...
