Just wanting to no what people have done when using 2 head gaskets and a spacer plate,,
(1 )use arp studs so that the threads go right into the block and dont run yhe risk of pulling threads in the block..
(2) use standard head bolts and remove washers
(3) use standard head bolts and hope u pull it down enough without pulling threads

when using a spacer, i always thought you just used a liberal coating of a very expensive sealant on one side & the gasket on the other.

(4) do it properly with pistons and not a bodge

5. take stu's advice & run it with factory compression & decent management

When Craig had his 1600 Turbo that was 2 gaskets, spacer plate and standard head bolts was totally fine until he upped the boost by alot lol

The only problem with having a turbo is the want for more boost lol

According to Matt brown boost gets you laid

Was that after or before he invented the mk1.5 Nova ?

I've built a few 8v Turbos got a thread on here of one with throttle boddies and tubular manifold and management, I'm building a we daily run about and it's actually a 1.4 c14se engine thats getting the treatment

What do you need to make a small block turbo starting from gte engine

14se turbo, very cool. id like to see that. keep us updated :)

If I found a Courtney mani reasonably price I'd probably think about giving it ago, xe power without the understeer must be excellent

My friend had one year's ago that I ended up buying of him and played about with it and it made 150bhp and was in the total Vauxhall mag

iirc I was the first to call his car a mk1.5 so I'll take credit for that lol

If its an aluminium alloy spacer then yes, if it's a steel one then it's advised to use 2 gaskets,

Info from ferriday when I was going to use a 1.5mm plate, decided against it as I want boost so I can get laid :)

No bolts, just bungee cords to handle the boost. I would replace the bolts in the floor pan though for some uprated ones cos the boost might make them come loose like it did with the NOS shot in F&F ;)

skim the life off the head, over bore, MASSIVE compression ratio and then control it right lol

Standard compression and just run a lower psi. Don't get greedy with the boost. Been tried and tested before and works well lol

I've been reading in to this quite a bit recently. The only thing holding me back is management, is a rising rate fuel pressure regulator up to the job? I'd not want to run stupid amounts of boost about 10psi.
Manifold, oil feed and return is no real problem and id use a decomp plate. Its more about trying to achieve getting it to work and be fairly reliable, I'm not trying to break any records or be the fastest out there.

Any info given would be much appreciated.

I have been told a rising rate fuel reg is good enough if you are not greedy.

Umm I'm going to have a word with the guy who does rolling road tuning just around the corner from where I work and ask his opinion as well. Like I say I'm not after massive power.

Cheers
