c20xe rear gearbox mount wont line up

hi folks,

i`m trying to get the rear gearbox mount onto the nova but it seems to be sitting about 10-15mm too far to the rear of the car, has anyone else experienced this?

Have you loosen the middle bolt that goes thru the rubber?

Oh, i bolt the mount together, then on the engine then on to the floor, needs a bit of a giggle but normally works.

Other mounts lose?

top man mate, i was trying to bolt the two mounts together lol its been a long day.

took the bolts out the box and bolted the two mounts together but even now the mount to the floor is sitting a mile off and cant seem to get any movement even with all the other mounts loose?

am i doing something wrong? order etc?

All the mounts lose? I'd bolt the mounts together, then on to the box, then on to the floor giggling as needed. You might need a jack/hoist to life the rear of the engine up to help work it in.

standard mounts or solid mounts mate? i've only ever fitted solid mounts on my novas and corsa, both required a bit of levering about to get everything all done up properly

I have the same problem every time i fit my engine, just need to get a pry bar and move the engine, it should go even with solid mounts, if not then there is something jammed which is causing the problem

Hey mate its got 2 solid mounts (front & rear gearbox) and drivers side front one is standard.
Did you lever it from above or below mate?

I ended up giving up last night, mibby try again tonite if I can be bothered lol
