did anyone on here have a bid/win it?

I watched it. It came up as a genuine SR but had a few non standard features of a later SR- wrong bumpers and grille, wrong tailgate, engine looks to be a 1400 (squared off cambelt cover and bosch red cap distributor) and a 2E3 carb.

That said - a good project for someone, and not often do you find a genuine 1984 SR now!

I think it was on gumtree For 500-600 aswell, if it's not this one , it was very similar, like you say not many about now.

Like most performance novas i can see it being relisted due to a timewaster

It was, contacted the seller but it had already gone.

The gumtree advert put me off to be fair, text speak ,poor spelling and the fact it was about 400 miles away in Wales :D

It would have been a very cheap car at £5-600

Maybe the winning bidder turns up to see them and they're not worth taking home. lol

Thats why you should look before bidding, i always ask for a none refundable 10% deposit on things like cars so alteast my fees are coverd

I am always dubious about GTE skirts over vinyl - what are they hiding underneath?!

I have spent some time zooming on the pics, it has a fair amount of rot in the usual places and a lot of dents but in fairness the seller says it would make a good project and has not claimed it to be mint, which is honest as we have all looked at cars described as mint when really they are buckets!

Skirts look wrong with the vinyl and side trims

Front bumper is wrong as stated, plus it and the wings/grille area dont look right/line up, it be willing to guess its had a front end bump, the n/s wing also looks scabby aswell as possibly the top of the n/s door, could just be the picture though!

Its strong money if it isnt in reasonable order - I would suggest a good look over before he parts with the cash.

As Spudly says, the front bumper on the NS doesnt look too clever at all - and it looks pretty scabby when you zoom in.

The interior photo may be purposeful to avoid showing the wear on the drivers bolster too!
