Gear Linkage

On my car the gear linkage has always ben c**p i have set it up three times on all three engine but it is still no good.

What shall i do it just feels really loose and the gears feel all over the place?

has anyone else had the same problem?

What shall i do find a good linkage off a GSi or something similar and put it on mine complete?
