i am seriously considering buying chris wards turbo nova,
i have tried 22 insurance companies and they all have said they would not insure me! so as i have sold my corsa and will be 19 next may when i can get insured i will pu the turbo back on!

how hard is it to take this off? its not the courtenay 5th injector
is it just putin a new head gasket on rather than a spacer plate?
new exhaust manifold?
taking the turbo off, intercooler?
what else?
just want a standard gte engine to insure untill next year

cheers

Hi,
If the Insurance will allow, just disconnect the Actuator rod. Then the car will run as a Low compression GTE/GSi, and not boost.
Alternatively, you'll have to take the turbo off, put on another manifold and reconnect the Airflow meter up to the throttle body and the car should run fine. Although you may want to take the spacer plate out and put one head gasket in otherwise it will be a bit slow.
Also you have to block up the oil return valve from the Turbo into the sump.
Everything else like the intercooler can stay where it is I would of thought.
But most of the boost pipe work would need removing. ie, from the intercooler to throttle body.

Have you rang HIC about your insurance? I pay 400 quid a year to insure my nova turbo with the 01279 757772. Good luck!
