just spent plenty of time packing it well, then remember to mark the box with 'please be very careful, Jars of Honey', no parcel man wants that all over his van/trolley/forklift/conveyor

i do it through parcel 2 go, enter all the details and it will be there, the cheapest they do is £2.50 + vat for items upto 5kg
Or ive also used parcel moneky which is about £2 more expensive but more than likely is next day.

On some quotes you can also do a " drop off center " which is ALOT cheaper than most.

Yep £6-7 incl VAT sounds about right for the 2-3 day couriers via Parcel2go up to a certain weight, it's pretty good.

sorry, but never ever send fragile stuff on 2-3day couriers... when stuff gets left knocking around in depots, it gets damaged.. overnight means it doesn't have time to sit about anywhere

As for a cylinder head... it would be funny for someone to kick the box about the warehouse as im sure they'll get a nice broken toe or 3

Insure it to the correct value (something like £20 or £50 for free I think?) and it's all good

Cheapest is around £7, but on a slow service with a shocking company TJ, So i would reccommend paying a couple of pounds more for a quality 24hr service.

City link / TNT £9

Sent a Vectra CDTI head recently through parcel2go, it was 30kg & worked out at near enough £18 in total and was next day delivery with citylink.

KY post-code by any chance? City link dont like them.

Nightfrieght would have done that 24hr for £9.47. Thats to / from a KY12 post code too

Yeh KY12, easier just to go with who you know though. Thought that wasnt too bad as half expected to pay more for that due to the weight of it. Will keep nightfreight in mind for the future though, cheers for the info.
P.S. You should start a wee price me a courier thread lol

Im not a stalker, That KY12 was a complete fluke lol

I run a parts business so post out 1000's of parts every year, Tend to use a select 4 or 5 couriers who i have never had any serious problems with.

City Link
TNT
Nightfreight (although they charge for missed deliverys so only send to 9 - 5 business')
Parcelforce
And of course the good old Royal Mail.

It just so happens they are the ones who have been around for donkeys years too, with a proven track record.
