Hey guys, is there a simple way to cut a circle out of a headlight without having to buy a diamond tipped hole saw? I dont realy want to take it some where to be cut as it will no doubt cost me and may aswell buy the hole saw.

I have read about a method with scoring it, getting it hot then dropping it into cold water, unsure if that would work though

After as free a way to do it as possible, have got spare headlights incase any method goes wrong

Thanks for any input.

Bruce

Why not take the glass out of it and make a fibreglass cover for it?

I would rather it still have an original look to it, i.e the glass.

If I was to think about going that route I would just take the glass out and use the rear as the scoop.

Something like THIS (https://www.google.co.uk/shopping/product/18049069467855627619?q=circular%20tile%20cutter&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en-gb&client=safari&sa=X&ei=8uzlUN3xO7SV0QWFh4DgBQ&ved=0CDkQ8wIwAA#hsec:overview)?

Yeh, exactly like that.

You think it would cut all the way through or just score it?

Should go all the way just need to be carefull when you break through that it doesnt blow the back face out

Track/strip, or declare the car as day light use only. Lol

can't you just get an old headlamp & take the glass out, and if you need a light then fit a small high intensity headlamp lamp, as in from a motorbike or similar just to cover the legalities

Ill only be fitting the air feed headlight for special occasions such as the strip/track, it will go with the other items ive got planned. I want 2 separate guises for my car depending on when its being used. Track slaaaaggg or trailer queen. :)

fair enough. can't you just make an air scoop that fits where the headlamp goes for sucking in cold air?, then fit the lamp to come home afterwards

I could, in fairness I could just leave the headlight out, just fancied a sleek aproach to it.

Nova Ian did the headlight stickers

I'd just remove the headlight for the day then refit it for the drive home tbh
