Thought i should get the finger out and finally get some work done on my little silk violet luxe plus , ive had the car for over 4 years now and its been posted on here before some of you may remember it , i drove the cars for 2 years solid and then had a bump at easter time , due to working for her majesty and living onboard a war ship i dont get home often to work at the car thought il show you guys a few pics of it and try to get the motivation to finish off the car as i just dont have the heart to let it go .

the car was in storage while i was away and when i came back on easter leave i ploughed into the back of a honda jazz :(

i was gutted when this happened and i did not have much time to try and get anything done with the car as i had to go back over to england so the car was put in storage and forgot about untill i got back home

the front panel wasnt welded on properly it was poorly tacked on it was only a quick thing so i could have the car looking a bit tidier so i could put it away untill i came home again , unforunitly this is when i lost all interest in the car and left it parked up for months due to lack of money and not being able to weld to save myself so it got tucked away :( , i hadnt been in contact with my family for a while and my dad had managed to get a few more bits for the car he got a few more wings as the pattern ones where a nightmare all the bits where sat on the car and it was pushed into the garage looking like this

boyle_46
31-12-12, 04:13 PM
it sat like this for what seemed an eternity and i went over to the garage to get some tools and the battery charger whilst i was there i decided to move the saab and spend a few hours on the nova , due to ignoring little bubbles and rust patches the engine bay looked in sorry state so i got to work disconnecting all the ancillarys and wireing loom so i can drop the engine out and start to poke and see what i was dealing with

they had been pattern parts i had collected over a period of time, for me i would of liked to have GM ones but my budget is too small , there has been a few lads on here use pattern ones and they seem to do the job alright few niggly little bits of shaping and getting them to fit right but i got Willy to do the bodywork as im **** at welding etc

it will mate but with a c20ne in her and dropped on the speedlines, i was thinking of a differnt wheel choice but its difficult to get something to cover the calipers. You wouldnt know who owns the white GTE thats from Balnaleck ive seen it a few times and thought it was Gary Sheridans, or the lad who owned the big wide arched black one , i asked a few lads down that way but dont think Richy knows whos it is lol

managed to get a bit more done and get the car home after being painted, speedline refurbish etc i have my work cut out, ive cleaned the new gsi interior but it could really do with a valet to bring it up better and a origional black glove box but it will do for now, other things ive popped on are headlight protectors and wind deflectors

not updated in a while due to work and not being able to get near it , but over the last few days the engines went in and managed to gather up a few bits and pieces whilst at work , managed to get a spare gsi interior , plans are to use the spare pass side seat fabric to repair my drivers bolster :) also picked up a bailey header tank and a chrome brake resovior cover to help compliment the alloy strut brace

as mentioned i dont get much time anymore to get near the car with it being at my dads at home in ireland but over the last fews weeks ive managed to get the engine fitted and gather up a few other bits to make the engine bay look a bit more pleasing thanks to razorjack for the chrome cover , the tatty washer bottle will be replaced with brand new one of anthony drosos and the strut top mounts , also put the bailey header tank in managed to get one of a facebook forum so was happy with that

aye its on the to do list i just dont have the patience or steady hand to do it , its sat on the grill so it doesnt get mis placed around the place , i took her out th garage to throw the hose over it and gave it a wee wax , also got some corbeau seats and sat them into her , will do for a change whilst i get the drivers bolster repaired with ,material from my spare interior , thats her out in the day light

spare interior i bought will make up a nice good one for the car and sell on the rest , i also got some new front door cappings off richy irwin to replace cracked ones i want the inside mint , the seats are minging but a quick valet will do the job on them also picked up the corbeaus , with nova subframes but a bit confused with how they secure at the rear , the front is just like any other nova seat with the two 13mm bolts to hold the subframe on but the rear could be a headache i wont drill into the floor so may remove them and sell on

http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc149/boyle_46/IMG_4921_zpsigucodyq.jpg (http://s215.photobucket.com/user/boyle_46/media/IMG_4921_zpsigucodyq.jpg.html)

as mentioned they are filthy from being sat around but im more interested in the passenger bolster to replace my drivers one heres the corbeaus , ive contacted them to replace the winders on both sides , takes the rough look of them and corbeau is replacing the sides for peanuts

seat frames bolted into the floor at the front but as mentioned not sure how they secure at the rear , they are the proper subframes for corsa A / nova

http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc149/boyle_46/IMG_5313_zpsgfq38gp9.jpg (http://s215.photobucket.com/user/boyle_46/media/IMG_5313_zpsgfq38gp9.jpg.html)

the corbeau targa aparently they are from 2010 but they were in a mates garage for years and covered so no fading etc im not sure on them but il keep for a change up when i get bored and also fit in my safety devices rear cage for a bit of a different look

fitted into the car they look ok and not too oversized , ive seen a gsi over here that looks the part and has calibra seats to me they look daft as they are too big for the car . thats what i had thought these may look but im happy enough a few pics of them fitted , plenty of room in between the two for getting at handbrake etc

see the shit repair thats been done with white plugs , but happy ive got the parts to repair them cheap as chips
