as in the title so far I have found a white saloon and mine but has anybody else got a Y reg nova or know of one? either taxed or sorn let me know :thumb:

My mate just sold a brown y reg saloon.
date of liability is 01/04/2009 for HEY 772Y according to DVLA - this means it has been scrapped am I correct?
have you got the reg for the brown one? trying to find earliest road registered nova thats still owned and not scrapped - many thanks

If its not been declared sorn, and it hasnt been on the road from before the time when it became a legality to declared it, then it just shows as unlicenced!

Wouldnt have a clue of reg im afraid as i only saw it when he got it as the shell & then few weeks later when he had it all prepped for a meeting.

when was yours register mine was 3/6/83
mine was registered with dvla on the 17/06/83 but have checked chassis on http://www.opel-corsa-a.com/index.php?seite=registry.htm and so far its 4th with all nova's before me located abroad. You should check it out see where your's is, let us know mate.

That site is a load of crap, it told us not too long ago there were either two or three antibes left, i can name at least six, and at the same time it told of only one nova sola in existence and im fairly sure it said that it was on sorn, there were at the time, two in the club, both taxed and on the road lol

not sure where you get your Antibes figures from but there is 19 licenced and 35 SORN at 30/09/12

The antibes figures came at the time from the howmanyleft website, as ive stated countless times its not very accurate, both owners of the sola's replied at the time and said theirs were both reg'd as sola models, and were both taxed tested insured and on the road at the time of asking!
As far as Antibes concerned the website shows there has always been at least 18 Nova Antibes licenced. There are currently 2 astra antibes and also two cavalier antibes which may be where the figure of two came from (cavalier forum ?)
Looking back at the Sola threads i cannot see anything by owners to say listed as Solas at DVLA. Both the cars refered to are listed as Merits hence will not be in category "solas"

I have a licenced antibes :-) although it's not had the engine logged yet as its not been used on the road yet !
most of the 1983 nova's will be on an A plate not a Y. I didn't know their was an A reg sport - thought that they didn't come out till a C plate earliest any one got a link?

Sports came out on a B reg, the A reg Sport is a long running saga about someone that allegedly reshelled his Sport with an A reg.

May not be a fail. Registrations of the two vehicles are required to provide the answer.

2 Have they been licenced at any time since 31/01/98 ? - if not will be unlicenced (ie NOT licenced or SORN)
3 Are they in the trade (for resale etc) - if they are, then likely to be unlicenced
4 Mainland UK ?
5 Are they correctly classified originally (easily checked on internet) records were computerised in the 1970's but who relied on computers in the 1980's ??. 1990 cars much more accurately classified.

regarding the swings -
the 1.0 /1.2 were launched in June 1984
1984 - total of 1 licenced left is a 1.0
1985 and later are all 1.2 ( 1985 - 17 still licenced)
the one at the national was a 1.2 (ie one of the 17 1985 left)
Nicks I do not have reg for but it could be the only one 1.0 left (as he suggested earlier in thread)

Not technically Sports, they were SR's with the homologated 'Sport tuning pack' fitted, although I dont think they used the same DCOE's as Sports and I am sure they never used the airbox! The Sport was just a way of getting the twin DCOE's homologated for use instead of the already homologated Pierburg 1B and Irmscher injection.
if the car in question is b33xxx then it is listed as a 1.2 Swing

MintFRST had a 1.0 Swing but it went to NI and they have their own vehicle licencing dept so may not show on these 'how many left' lists. Cormac also has a 1.0 in NI

Im curious as to why it matters to you so much? What gives you the right to call people liars just because they dont want to give som random in the Internet their reg number. I have seen cav gli's swing and it is a 1l happy now?

someone put up that according to that site, theres only 1 nova 1.0 swing (1 litre, not 1.2 swing) left in existance registered with the DVLA. i own a B-reg Nova 1.0 Swing.

i dont think cars registered over in NI count if you're thinking of any from club members over there
Not to mention of course that for every nova that Is on here there is probably at least 10 that arent so the chances of a few of them being swings as well is pretty high
You have confirmed the situation regarding yours (ie what the logbook says)
I only asked for the reg as I can hardy ask for the log book !
Assuming yours was licenced at 30/09/12, then I would say in answer to your question it is likely that yours is the only one either licenced or SORN on the UK mainland, unless someone adequately proves otherwise !
There has been only one other 1.0 swing licenced or SORN since 01/01/2010 and this went off DVLA records betweeen 01/04/12 and 30/06/2012 - chances are that it was either one of the ones that went to NI or Andys mate did not put onto SORN after March 2012 (it may exist but be listed as unlicenced). Often it is the sweeping statements made on PNG (and elsewhere) regarding the statistics which are very misleading rather than the figures themselves !.
I would say as I have said on my SR thread there is no evidence that DVLA / how many left figures are incorrect as they have a whole department dealing with statistics ! and it would be very worrying if this was the case.

As regards the two "Nova swings" referred to above - I have been advised since writing the above that both are registered as 1.0 rather than 1.0 swing (not as originally claimed by others on PNG). Therefore the split between 1.0 and 1.0 swing cannot be relied upon, but the total should account for all the 1.0/ 1.0 swing still in existance, unless someone adequately proves otherwise !

I own and drive as my every day car a 1984 1.0 ohv swing. It is registered as this with DVLA, I think it is August 1984 (although the wiring has labels stating spetember 1983)

On the Sola subject, I may be able to shed some light on this...
At the Heritage Centre I spoke to a very knowledgable gentleman who confirmed that there were 100 Solas, most likely 50 red and 50 silk violet. They were initially Merits but were converted (roof added) before import into the UK and were sold through the London Dealer network. Not all of them were registered as Solas as some dealers didn't make the necessary administative changes to the log books and registrations.
Mine is one of these. I have it confirmed as a Sola from the Vauxhall Heritage Centre and am now trying to get the log book changed. Why? I have no idea, it doesn't really matter, I just see it as a little side project.

my dad had a mocha brown y rej one a while back, cream cheq interior, brown dash, brown carpets, early mirror, p/s blank e.t.c.... was deceased in 1998 after he sold it iirc, don't know how. although i will try find out the rej.
also another mocha one if it's still alive?
