so i just went onto my online banking only to be faced with some robbing **** thaty has decided to steal £995 from my account! all it says is that it was a direct debit.
so i checked my email and it has came from paypal. where it says type of payment it says that i have donated the money. and in the description box it says "This transaction is subject to a Buyer Complaint or a chargeback. Go to the Resolution Centre to learn more about resolving this issue."
number 1, i havnt sold **** all so cant be a complaint of any kind and number 2 i dont know who the **** it is. i have opend a complaint thing in the resolution centre now. also my account was changed to limited before i even opened the compalaint.
has this happened to anyone on here before? any idea how long it will take to get my money back?
cheers
Barry
we did years back, someone in kansas hacked us. but only for £30, we got it back a couple of days later iirc.
i assume you've contacted the bank & paypal.
someone must have got your password, or there is some dodgy trojan thing in your pc.

if your account is limited its likely they suspect the transaction is invalid. This may give you some confidence that you should be able to get your money back fairly easily. It may not even have been paid to them. The money could have been removed from your account and may be sitting with Paypal until its resolved.

yeah just off the phone to the bank, basically since i have already been in contact with the paypal fraud team there isnt much they can do. they have cancelled my card because it is associated with paypal. just have to wait and see i suppose.

...they have cancelled my card because it is associated with paypal....
if this is your 'cash card' make sure you go to the bank and withdraw money before the New Year holidays or you might be left cashless.

yeah its my cash card but got cash sitting in the house anyway. such a stress...
After a simular thing happened to me few years back, i opened another bank account with natwest and used that for paypal stuff, only transferring cash across when i need to pay for something, just so i couldnt be cleared out from the account i have my wages paid into
not much help now i know but maybe something you could do in the future to prevent the same happening again

^ good plan there edd i think i might just do that. :thumb:
small update, just off the phone to paypal, it seems that when the money was being transfered paypal put a limitation on my account which stopped the money going to the ballbags account. so with a bit of luck ill get it back :)
