ive found out some info after some digging of a derelict house and in the garage is a marcos coupe,
now how would i go about legally aquiring it:p
the owner has not lived there for over 15 years and the house is in ruin but very hid and surprisingly whats probally save the marcos,
there is also remains of a marcos mantaray 4.6 too and a humber super snipe too
the chances are the cars are still registered to this address so if i apply for v5 and they dont reply they issue one to me
i cant really see anybody missing it its been here far too long and left in ruin
pics of said marcos

only problem you'd run into is the car is still on a propety, and by removing it without permission its theft.

If you know who owns the house then they probably own the cars and then cash with no doubt be involved

Lol @ whoever asked if it was special. Look at it!
Unlike a 2dr Nova with a boot, that is actually a coupe.
I laughed at 'howay in a manger' by the way mate. Even if it is spelg wrong. lol
Its brewed in north yorkshire what you expect lol
probably in guisborough (lol)

lol '5-1 Bitter' is also amusing. They're not obsessed though! :d
Got the lads down for 3 points on your coupon this weekend like?

"Stand up if you sh*g your kids. Stand up..."
You're welcome to them mate lol
Finally watching Point Break btw. Is it as good as I'm hoping?
Showing promise so far. Keanu Reeves just got kicked all owa by a naked chick.
That's the dream.
Sounds like a regular day at the lonsdale boxers stadia to me haha lol
lol No council-owned properties to be seen, thankfully.
O'Neill is the brand of choice too. Suppose if they wanna play badmington they can get a couple of Slazenger hitting sticks off Fat Mike and still have change from a tenner like.
Classy!
What makes you think he'll just sign it over to you?
This films mint! lol
its not that good..... really.

Interesting find but if the owner still knows what he has... $$$
But no harm in trying. Altough I think it would be a very expensive rebuild as parts aren't that easy to sort as for the 4-door next to it ;)
weren't the marcos gt's made from plywood with grp outer panels??
my own personal opinion is that they are hideous. sorry. there were literally hundreds of small gt makers in the 60's/70's and most were better looking than the marcos.
Timber chassis/GRP... ridiculously light, I worked on one last year that was being campaigned in an FIA historic sports car championship, they're expecting them to explode in price due to demand after their first season as it's about 200 kilos lighter than their previous car! Had bits of 4x2 studwork cutoffs in the passenger side from chassis repairs :d
From what I saw of it, it was pretty well built for what they are and the age, run Volvo 1.8 8v's. Personally I think they're gorgeous looking things too, like a mini Manta A but curvier
its not that good..... really.
There's a lot worse!
You don't like anything though. lol

leave the poor mans car alone. it doesnt belong to you. yes its a shame to see it in this condition, but it is someones property in their garage. i would hate to go on holiday and someone lay claim to my collection of vehicles!
track down the owner and ask him to sell, by all means. But trying to justify claiming by any other means is wrong. let him rust (or rot) in peace.

Whats there to look into legally?
If you want a car you have to buy it :)

Contacting the owner is normally a good first step to buying it?

The original Marcos was a cute vehicle, and went well with the rover V8 engined models, if it looked like this I'd be more interested

Feck the car I want the house
it looks like one of those stately piles that was left to rack & ruin because of death duties back in the 50's/60's.

surely if you know the house is owned by someone then you were tresspassing?
Id imagine the guy that owns this will be pretty annoyed that you were raking around his house and will not want to sell it to you.

i dont care what you assume about his personal circumstances.
. Yes ive read your thread and im not suggesting your stealing it but unless you speak to the guy face to face then any other way is less than moral. The tone of your posts suggested you have already `laid claim` and that your ownership is merely a technicality.
so before you go about calling people `tossers`or `idiots`, tread carefully
i have an old property, looks a big delapodated and 'abandoned` it happens to be full of cable drums, 2 rare cars and unusual car parts. but if someone thinks theyre entitled to them or even go in and poke about and think they can take them as the can appear to be `abandoned` they can expect a crowbar over the brain and the full extent of the law exerted on them

i am not the one who took the pictures and have never stood foot on any property so im pretty sure,so when i speak to him i will make him aware of this just merely obtained a location by legal means

search for Dr X manor house and some careful searching gives the location.
Apparently its ok to lay claim, so first man to get it...gets it. I'm sure Mr Fox isn't the first person to try however.....

so before people get on there high horse, as you rightly said vinny, it is possible the car is not registered to anyone, therefore the car could be obtained by other ways than speaking to an owner, as infact there might not even legaly be one.

But the registered keeper (log book) isn't legal proof of ownership either even says it on the log book

removing it from their property without permission is still likely to be regarded as theft. so again, like i said before and not getting on my a high horse....tread carefully.
if i have an engine lying on my garden, i may not have paperwork to say its legally registered to me, but if some obe was to remove it without my permission, it is theft and they would likely be prosicuted accordingly.

I know this mr lover was getting at just because it may not be registered doesn't mean it doesn't have an owner as if it did I'd be helping myself daily do the BMW plant less than a mile down the road

that reply was not meant for you. it was the one above. you replied while i was typing.
people need to learn the definitions of 'registered keeper' and 'legal owner'

i do know the difference and if yous want to be like that then you will need to contact the land registory and pay £40 to them to see who owns the land then speak to the owner and they may shed light on it or give you permission to remove it then do the rest of what i said with the dvla ether way you can get all the info for £80.
