Not posted for a while but thought i'd reply on this one

I have had the 8880 supercar since it was released in 1994
http://www.siliconjunction.info/lego/sets/images/8880-full-icon.jpg

But after seeing a few custom crawler cranes on various sites i thought i would give one a bash,
so version 1 started as
http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t74/Cheeze1982/20121229_184005.jpg

Then onto Version 2
http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t74/Cheeze1982/20121230_132605.jpg

And after a wee think it got broken down along with the supercar for parts to build this

Version 3 based roughly on a Liebherr LR 1110
http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t74/Cheeze1982/20130105_102719.jpg

Floor to tip of whip boom 95cm at full height
Floor to tip of main boom 65cm at full height

Not sure on lifting weights yet, but the Fastrac is 200g and i have 400g of ballast so far
Also need to get crawler tracks to do the base and a turntable to allow it to slew

Making the tracks and 360 remote controlled would be easy enough but not sure about the boom functions. Doubt there is enough room for 3 battery's, receivers and motors. So might as well just use the standard power function and switch set up.

So you can run 2 motors off 1 receiver?

Think I'll get a couple of motors and see if I can get the tracks working then.
