now, all they have to do is sell all those 4x4's & buy double cab beaver tail transits for those pretend coppers to drive in, oh, and train them up as recovery men too instead of them being mobile roadblocks

using a photo of it clearly not working, another 2.3 million down the drain

it wont work. people will still look to see whats going on. ts a natural instinct. They still miss the point that they should spend the money on fixing poorly drained, bad surfaces and over populated roads that cause 90 percent of the crashes.

Oh fantastic, another obstacle to have to maneuver a recovery vehicle around in the dark, as if the police cars/ambulances/fire appliances aren't bad enough lol When roadside, I'd prefer to see the out of control motorist coming towards me, and not work effectively blind. So much for not turning your back on the traffic, it's behind a bloody curtain! lol

I was driving at 70 on the clear side of a motorway and a crash was on the other side, the car in front slams on the brakes for a look so I braked and kept my horn pressed for ages every cop must of turned round lol

Mostly these sheets are deployed at fatal crash sites when the motorway is closed, we have had them up here for 2 years but hardly use them, I've been told its not so much to stop rubbernecking but to prevent trauma to passing drivers from seeing mangled human remains and to try and avoid pictures being taken.

Tbh showing mangled human remains to cretin rubberneckers might be the inspiration needed to make most people drive less like bell ends.

Yeah but the bogus claims for stress and trauma caused to the passing motorist is the reason behind this too, ****s will claim for anything these days,

Iffy companies are making people claim... If it weren't for them, then leaving gore on show would be a good lesson

Well it didn't adversely affect the generations of the past 100 years of motoring

Time to hand in the man card I'm afraid.

Life is hard, life is cruel and most certainly is unfair. It does none of us any harm to be reminded of that every now and then.

what's really annoying is that 20 odd years ago, on parts of the m6, they had a sort of screen. it consisted of plastic boards placed every few feet, so it worked like a venetian blind.

ok. we have the safest roads for a developed country. we know the motorways are safer per vehicle than all other roads.

we also know that some idiot in a car will anchor up to have a gander & take photos (see above post) causing a major traffic holdup that will take hours to clear

we also know that the car hater who works at the motorway sign control room will put 40mph signs up & leave them on for no good reason

we also know that any right minded government would have specialist accident cleanup crews strategically located to get the road running asap, as opposed to a 4x4 with 2 old gits who always wanted to be policemen & don't want to work nights guarding factories any more, and then not allow them to use as much as a yard brush.

I thought that was to stop you getting dazzled by other drivers?

and if you can't see their headlights, you also can't see them, thus its a screen
