Snap, ive got a leccy one or if you have a chain oil filter remover that will grip around it tightly while you undo it
What about if I can't get hold of an impact gun?

have you tryed putting it in gear then undoing it or oil filter strap like chris said
I haven't attempted to take it off yet, originally there was a loud screeching coming from the fan belt so I changed that and then I realised that the water pump bearing was shot so I changed the pump but the loud screech is still there so I imagine it to be the crank pulley? Was trying to find out the simplest way to remove the pulley?

Have you checked the alternator bearing?
As above, start car without alt belt on and re-check for noise. If its gone check alt bearings.
What's the best way to check the alternator bearing? I don't think there is any play in it, i tried to turn the crank pulley but it won't budge
I just went to start the car but it seems I have a flat battery but considering it has a new battery less than 1month old and I did check that the alternator was charging the battery which it was

if you dont have an impact gun. you can loosen the bolt by locking an extension bar on it against something solid and crack the starter. youll have to find your own way of tightening it tho.

I just leave it gear with someone pressing the brakes and loosen and tighten that way

you could take the flywheel inspection cover off and stick something long and hard in there to jam your ring gear.

Take the drive belt of and spin the alternator pulley and see if it runs smooth, you will only be able to turn the crank pulley with a socet and ratchet not buy hand
Alright thanks for the help I'll give it all a check through tomorrow
