Actually been reading up on the calendar a little bit just out of interest. Not only is it an academic debate whether there's 13 or 20 b'aktuns in the calendar (I.E the world would end in about 3000 years from now if it's 20) the Mayans had counts bigger than b'aktuns, the largest being equal to 3.2million b'aktuns.

So even if the resetting of the calendar does signify the end of the world, it's due in around 1.37 trillion years lol

Actually think I just found the source of all the hype, there was a broken tablet found with the date 13.0.0.0.0 referenced (today in our calendar) and the 'event' that it referenced was on the broken half of the tablet, so no one knows what the mayans believed would happen on that (or this) day.

their 'creation date' also falls on a 13.0.0.0.0 or however many 0's there are :p But yeah I thought it was just because their calendar run out of pages, but it turns out it has like 1.37 trillion x18 (number of mayan 'months'!) left yet lol

Also their calendars must cost an absolute fcuking bomb. 18 pages a year and even if you just go for the normal date structures up to baktuns it covers about 4000 years lol
