im looking at building a c20let ready for the fast show in march and have seen the EDS chips on ebay. they claim to give gains up to 280BHP and 415NM of torque do many people use these? if so are they as good as they say.

they claim they are safe to use with stock internal which is believable when raising the boost to just 0.9 bar=12 psi ish and say the only modification needed is cold spark plugs.

any information is much appreciated

They probably aren't genuine ones tbh. Genuine eds are/were about £400

alot of people use phase 2 chips, including myself. the fuel pressure has to be upped to 3.5bar on standard injectors or i believe some swap to saab reds and keep the stock fuel pressure reg, a reasonable intercooler is also advised.

obviously dont expect it to go straight to 280bhp, depends on the health of the motor to start with and maybe a couple of other little choice mods.

genuine ones have switchable boost levels to i run phase 3 on mine and they are the genuine regal ones with power wheel

The later regal ones didn't come with the switch....

mine say eds and arnt switchable, presume there genuine...

I'm currently using some Beardy copy's which I reccomend!

Give Ste porter a pm and I sure he'll be able to point you in the correct direction

just because it isnt genuine. it soesnt mean it wont work. as long as it is genuinely ripped from EDS ROM it should be every bit the same as the real deal. The only problem is knowing exactly what yout getting and knowing its safe for your engine.

cheers for the help guys don't think i will be getting the ones that are on eBay unless there is someone on hear that has actually used them :) i have checked the guy out that is selling them and he does have mostly positive feedback but still not confident lol

From all the info i've been getting, all EDS ones come with the daughter board. They dont all have the power wheel but will have the board. I have a set that look just like yours, they aren't. gen.
