quick question 4 the techheads, my negative battery leae is snapped on my Gsi but still runs fine cos of the earth strap on it though but the ecu light keeps coming on, could the snapped wire cause it to come on?

dont know the answer 2 that mate but u cud always test ur ecu like i did the other night when i had a prob locky sent us here its dead easy 2 follow

or,

you could do what that other little pikey did to me and nick another ecu and see if that helps :evil:

You could the simple thing and get another battery lead from a scappy for a quid and see if that works!

wait - if your negative battery lead has snapped then the battery has no connection to the chassis?

if so an earthstrap aint gonna do jack since grounding to the chassis is only gonna work if the chassis is connected to the battery!

so explain what u mean :|

Theres an earth on the gearbox aswell as the bulkhead. All fixed now anyway. Took it to have the fault codes read and it turned out to be the throttle body coked in crap.
