What is the difference/if any in a mk 2 rear gsi bumper and just a base model one?

The GSI bumper has a cut out for the exhaust and is not textured as it is painted.

So not worth buying a gsi one then ha, mines been rubbed down and sprayed and has cut out for my exhaust so no need to change then if that's the only difference

The GSi bumpers are actually the same, just painted, if you look close up you can see the texture through the paint, and the exhaust cutout, is just a pov spec with a section removed, its the same with SR bumpers, if you look at the back (mk1) there are the marks to cut out the holes for the euro spec front fogs!


A GSi rear bumper with no paint, is just the same as a pov spec one, this is a common misconception :p

Yep, you cant get them anymore, but all bumpers that were bought aftermarket/through dealerships came textured/non-painted:thumb:

They were selling them in the adverts at the front of the older total vaux, i was told that the place advertising them had bought up the last of GM's stocks of them, they were about £145 iirc, they were the last genuine ones i know of for sale, any you find now will be fibreglass ones and will definately need painting!

I reckon youd be very hard pushed to find an unpainted GSi front these days, but you never know as mk1's are what everyone wants now, so mk2's aint worth much anymore lol

Ive not seen it used on any of the vw forums before so its a new one and its baffled my head since ive been on ere lol, im thinking of going mk2 front end as ive got new saloon wings i cant shift and i would rather use them than be stuck with them as i need new wings anyway
