i used to see 250 miles on a full tank from a pretty much standard 13sb (and lots and lots of sound system on the boot)

dont know what it works ou in todays money, cant remember the size of a nova tank, but possibly helps?

220 miles out of £40 is about 24 mpg, how good or bad that is depends on your driving style.

I work it out to be about 33-34mpg. Depending on what type of driving you do and the current weather/temperature I would say that was fine.

I get 220-240 for £40 in a 2.0 td transit so I'd say those results you have are pretty good

But as you say, his is a 1.2 so there will be a difference. Plus the fact you have let the engine breath more with your modifications. The better it breaths the more fuel you will use.
Have you experienced carb icing yet? Thats great lol might be better sticking the frying pan back on for winter use ;)

I was just about to suggest carb frezing

My old SR 20yrs (yes i am that old!) with a K&N in this weather, would supp juice like a tramp with a bottle of White Lightning! :)

I would definetly try the origonal air filter & heat set up from manifold & see if it improves things.

I brimmed my nova at the weekend and it took 21 litres, and cost me about £30, the needle always goes over the 'full' mark when brimmed, ive done about 101 miles (nearly all of that was abuse aswell (ask Nick J and Joe Richardson) and the needle is just below the 'full' mark now lol

And remember that youre only getting about £20 worth of fuel for your £40 these days anyways, but it seems yours is about right, and you just have a heavy foot/need an xe :d

car coughs, splutters & runs crap...

...and engine cuts out if bad enough.
Used to get it regular when I had a K&N on my 1.4SR, usually coming back down the A38 from the girlfriends house at a rate of knots to get to work on time.

Need to find one first, there are far more SR's to be xe'd than antibes lol

My loon would get 110 miles to £10 round town or on motorway and its only got a 4spd box but since fitting my sr steels with 185/55/14 tyres on i only get about 95 to £10 maybe a bit less now so wider tyres dont help with fuel savings either. Im tempted to fit my old steels back on now lol

I would say the profile is slightly too small which won't help
