hi all

firstly sorry for the non nova related thread

well am now 17 and learning to drive , ive still got my GTE but unluckly i am unable to insure it so ive manage to get my hands on a low mileage 2 owner form new Mk1 punto sporting the last owner was an 80 year old man which had had it since 2002/03 and it only done mabey 1 or 2000 miles a year

the plans are lowered 60/40 , full sportex system , fit my cobra buckets and paint the wheels either matt black or grey / anthracite fit a laguna splitter and if i can find one fit a gt turbo spolier

so heres some pictures

they drive annoyingly well, much better than the mk2's. brake pipes were a big failing point on these, there was (and still is if its outstanding) a massive recall, might be worth getting in touch with a dealer and seeing if it's been done (replace any rotten pipes, clean and treat all other solid lines, hell of a money loss for fiat)

rear arm/spring pan bushes were fairly common as well, but on that mileage probably not even worn in (powerflex bushes are miles cheaper than a new arm, and not hard to fit, we used to offer it as a "dealer upgrade" and make a stack of pennies on it)

the wheels do look good in anthracite, just as a heads up :thumb:

cheers mate, ye i think it does drive pretty well and its quite a nice place to be with all the extras being a sporting :) i had heard about the brake pipes and i know mines was done at a very early age as there is wax oil all over the pipes at the master cylinder , not had it on the ramp yet so well soon find out waht the pipes undernieth are like lol .

not had any signs of rear bushes away on it yet , do u know if they were a recall ? and if they do go are the rear poly bushed reasonbly price ?

cheers andy

the waxoyl stuff they used was amazing stuff, proper Fiat supplied (and may have helped rust proof one of my previous novas...)

the spring pans were never a recall, just a wear and tear item. cant remember the price of the bushes, its five years or so since i was at the stealership
