Hi, I have a set of Accralite pistons for a x16xe engine and the ring land for the top ring is too small. Is it normal for aftermarket pistons to use different rings to standard pistons? I think the difference is about 0.2mm, is it sensible to try and open it up? I'd guess not? I have emailed Accralite but am yet to recieve a reply.
Any help much appreciated.
Thanks

in all the info i have, the top ring on all the small block xe engines is 1.2mm wide.

i assume the accralites didn't come with any rings?

Yeah I got the pistons on their own, no rings. I think I bought them off Burgo, but I don't think he knew much about them either. I think I measured the top ring land on the standard piston at 1.2mm but the Accralite one was closer to 1.0mm. I suppose I should have checked before ordering the rings!

the accralite website is pretty good, but i'd advise ringing them. +44 (0) 121 559 6778
