Ello,
Month or so back I had my 1990 GTE engine re-cond. At the same time of the recon I asked the garage to race/tune/sport my car up if I paid more. They said they'd:
- skim the head
- fit a fast road cam
- lighten & balance the fly-wheel
- balance the crank shaft
- bore it out (1mm oversize)
- fit a new set of over sized pistons and con rods
- and every thing else envolved in the recon.
All for aprox. ?1500! I thought this was pretty damb good so I told them to go ahead with it and they said it would take about a month.
Anyway I saw them do most of the work so I knew it was all new parts etc. and they seemed to be doing a good enough job but my Q is that, I didn't see them fit the cam and i've got a funny feeling that they might have just put mine back in! Is there an easy way I can find out if the cam is a fast road one or a standard one???
(Sorry 4 long winded msg!)
