:snipersm: got a bit of trouble with my car, didn't have any power in the battery and couldn't get jump-started so i went and got a new heavy duty battery... lasted less than a week and now thats totally flat as well, can't get it jump-started ... just get a very slight turn of the engine then i get an annoying clicking sound.. gonna take my battery out and charge it up, any idea's why it wont start and why the battery keeps going flat..
Cheerz.

alternator!!!

its not charging the battery up. also u cant jump start a car with a knackered altenator as theres nothing to produce power for the spark!!

check all your earth cable and positive cable to the alternator. if no success ten u need a new 1

may just be your brushes in your alternator. most people go out and get a new one/recon alternator and spend upto ?50 when a lot of the time all you need is a ?2.50 brush replacement. should be 2 screws/bolts on the alternator. undo them and there should be two metal prongs check to see how long they are and whether they look worn.

Alex is right ! although since you'll be removing the alternator, it's an opportunity for you to upgrade it, get an alternator from a Diesel Nova, ideal if you're planning big ice later !
