CamCorder help please

Hello all, i've got a Hitachi dzhv-584e camcorder that all of a sudden wont turn on, be recognised on my computer. pretty much dead. its not been dropped or anything like that and i have charged the battery full (3hrs charge).

Theres a LED light that is displaying red but only when plugged into computer.

Anyone got any ideas? really dont want to bin as it was a good camera.

You legend Southie :) (i owe you rep when i can) looks like a case of just replacing the battery then.

Shall get a new one ordered and see if it makes a difference.
