do you mean sqeaky? its probly slipping
there isnt a fan belt as such - its the alterrnator belt - it squeels when it slips/worn - either needs retensioning or replacing - v easy to do (presumes the 1 ltr alternator belt location is same as the others) - simply undo one bolt on alternator, slide it fwd, remove, replace with new belt, then either get a m8 to hold the laternator back to its orig location or wedge a bit of wood betwwn it and the engine block whilst you do up the bolt.
There should be 1/4" movement when you push the middle of the belt (between lower cam pully and alternator belt) - check after 250 miles or so and retension after belt stretches.
Check haynes for full details - 10 min job if that!
Belts are about ?10 if that

just get a new 1 ?3.69 from halfords and fit that :)
or be a cheapskate and spray a little WD40 on it sa its running, will be nice and quiete ;)
