Just any.. more modern engines are more economical and that's what Im after..

if its economy, on a decent road trip across europe, lynz's mk1 fitted with a 20seh managed about 48mpg.....

or a 1.5 diesel.... probably 60+mpg..

i reckon you'd be lucky to get anywhere near that with a corsa c engine, and there are a load more electrics to sort out..

Ah ok.. so is it a pain in the **** to fit?

1.8 maybe. Any of the others, hell no.
The others are just dire, economically aswell.

Well my Mrs drives a 1.2 corsa c and her petrol just seems everlasting.. so I was thinkin to try the same sort of thing in my nova..

Trust me, she does lol

Seems everyone has different views on mpg.. everyone is sayin different things...

I just want good mpg as Im now driving 70 miles a day..

Far more economical cars out there than the Corsa C...mines not bad, but certainly nowhere near good enough to justify the swap

What Nova enigine do you have currently? Tryres etc also have an impact, my 1.0 and 1.2 carb run on origonal type 145s.

My 1.0 which i generally push hardish because you have to returns 50 mpg, it's no rocket but still faster than a mates 1.4 206. (according to vauxhall it can do 57 mpg, if you drive lightly don't know if it's possible?)

My scrapped 1.2i only returned about 40 mpg and was slow.

I have never checked what the 1.2 carb one does.

My 1.3 sr gives between 45 and 50 mpg depending on driving.

My 1.4 returns less than 40 mpg.

As far as I know, with smaller engines, when they are revved it doesn't make as big a difference to economy as revving a bigger engine, but also the diffrence is in performance so you'll have to weigh it all up.

My mum's 1.4 16v corsa D is absolutely awful for economy, performance, comfort and road noise. The last time she was in the 1.0 she remakred on how different it was.
