i have loads of ideas i want to do but as i cant decide I'm going to put it to vote and go with the majority choice on here :thumb:

so here are the choices

FINISH

powder coated

COLOUR

gun metal grey (or simliar)
black
white

Who cares about colour? You want a more open spoke to let air in and out for brake cooling, then worry about tyre type and grip/thred.

Colour is a last of all thought, im my eyes simple and cheap is best. As they get knocked and damage.

what wheels would you reccomend then?

ive been reading up on tyres for a while, and everyone knows the right colour wheels can make your car faster, fact!

Exactly, mine were 3 different - so 2 rattles cans later and they were stupid orange!

Satin black. Its easy to paint, its easy to get hold of (if you need some quick, halfords always have it in stock), its easy to match, it doesn't show up brake dust, its easy to repaint if it gets bashed. I don't like lairy colours tbh

im already doing the engine bay satin black, the brake calipers hammerite black and the engine block, also thinking of doing the floor pan black to tidy it up

think thats all the black the car needs, dont know why i added it tbh i was thinking of that ancrite colour or what ever its called lol

Get the bloody thing running before you worry about these minor details.

If its a white shell white wheels FTW.
Rattle can them with a good few layers of clear coat.

They will be getting regular tyre changes if they are for the track so as said above cheap is the way to go.

multi tasking is easy as long as its not washing up and hovering

forgot to add neon pink to the colour options

rattle can white, as everyone has said, it's cheap, easy to match and they will take some abuse as track wheels.

why are you using astra steels on the road btw? they are hideous lol

becuase they were cheap and look better then normal steels, they will end up as winter wheels, but i think 2 sets for 1 non working car is enough for now lol

but 15" vauxhall alloys are so cheap :( astra steels make baby jesus cry lol

and having used both, i'd choose parada spec 2's over T1R's any day. the toyo's are utter garbage in comparison

from what ive read eyerone recommend the spec 2's ove the proxes, the only reason im starting of with proxes is i already have brand new set of them lol

the steels will look alright once there banded, can sell them on for 600 quid to idiot then lol

for what you'll spend on having them done properly, you could buy a set of brand new MO's lol

turbojolt
25-11-12, 08:13 PM
i dont want mo's anymore, ive been looking at the more jap style wheels like advans but they dont seem to do vauxhall friendly offsets

I'd sooner run on bare rims than either of those tyre options lol

Kumho ku31's (if you can find them) or ku39's

turbojolt
25-11-12, 09:38 PM
why would it be hard to find them, are they not still being produced?

and what makes them better, what did you have them on the vx

Ku31's aren't made anymore, the 39 replaced it.

I ran ha kook rs2's first then ku31's and finally kh39's from Marshall. Damn fine tyres, even when I was hurting them at Llandow.

Yes they do. Civic is the same as a Nova.

I looked for KU31's 2 years ago and they were discontinued :( Good but no brilliant tyres imo

I recently had a set of 225/40/18 KU31's fitted to my Mondeo. Have covered around 3500miles since, and they are decent for dry grip, road noise and wear, but wet grip leaves a lot to be desired - under normal driving too.

I did a damp/wet track day on KU31's - unimpressed
