I've got some terrible cheap snow tyres on my mk1 golf and it sounds like a Lancaster bomber, I was sure the wheel bearings were shot but they are fine.

Yesterday and today went out for a drive and enjoyed the sunshine. Also met up with Steve and found ourselves becoming very geeky explaining our Novas to people who thought they new about them and really where just making pleasant conversation. Lol

Same here lol
took old engine out n put new one in. wish id done a bit more research in differences between the td nova engine n the corsa version, headed up to the lockup expecting it to take a day to have done, started well, engine out in a n hour before realsing everything on the 2 engines was diffferent lol to make things worse even simple stuff like ball joints causing me hassle with opening boxes to discover the parts inside are differnt than they should be. it'll be mot'd this weekend if it kills me lol

Impressive
Took the head etc off, changed the cambelt/fanbelt. Cleaned surfaces, put on new gasket.
Reassembled with quite a few problems, got fed up and in a very bad mood.
Then drove it round the block. My day in a nutshell lol

sounds like your nova's aren't getting anywhere near the abuse they deserve. they need to be out there, getting used and abused, terrorising the pot hole ridden streets of despair

This afternoon Jeffrey (Vlietje) and myself talked the usual bollocks about Nova's and outlined the details of our upcoming trip to the UK to help out fellow Nova owners. Looks like Dutch waffles are on the cards. Again. Mmmmm. :d

Is it possible to remove the oil cooler and fit one externally like some C20xe's ?
Yeah, but there's not a lot of room for it in the front. I did consider mounting one under the bonnet and dremeling a big hole though lol
Should be able to fit it to one side of the rad with reasonable ventilation through the bumper/grill still?

jack, that engine is far too big! lol

go and sit on the naughty step.... there is no such thing as too big

No room either side of the rad. I could possibly try and fit one in front, behind the bumper I suppose if it was reaaaallly small but there's no ideal mounts there and I don't want to be cutting bits out the valance FMIC style lol

Finished fitting this, I bought it of eBay a week or so ago, it's the old school swm snap off kit, with hub boss adapter and swm wheel, ok the wheels a polyurethane one, but it's good enough.. Cost me a £52 delivered.

Most people I've seen fit one there move the rad over to a non central position... but really, I've seen people fit FMIC, alloy rads and oil coolers! You're not trying hard enough :p

I love the autolok Scott, I had one on the SR years ago:d, I had a collar made that fitted to the gear lever stalk and went within the Autolok neck, held with an allen screw, as theives use to just pull the gear lever knob off and remove it;)
I still have the collar and the autolok somewhere:roll:

Hanging out the front bumper wouldn't last 5 mins round here, some charv would put a boot through it lol
I did look at moving the rad over to one side but there's nay room, it fills pretty much the whole space. And with the V6 in, it sits further forward than with a normal 4cyl so little room in front either :(

New exhaust fitted, new steering wheel with Snap-Off boss fitted, new aerial fitted, brakes bled again, coolant temp sensor replaced, ran some new wiring through for the stereo and fitted a new washer bottle cap. Did a few other little jobs as well on other stuff. Started on it after work at 13:00 and only finished at half nine.
